Finally!

Well it has been a while and I have been super busy! I have so much to write and so many pictures to upload so you know its going to be a long post!!
So to start out let me just say life has been great and I am really improving my well roundedness! My determination here as a whole has been growing and being independent as well, I mean over here I have to kinda take care of myself so you know self control is a big issue and I think I am handling it well. Its been kinda hard but i have been trying to cut down on the candy even though its soo much better over here. Also I have made a couple more friends and I am feeling a little less lonely, I mean its hard because people see me and they automatically think I dont speak any japanese so they dont make an effort to talk to me...However now I can fully understand what people say in a conversation, I just have trouble replying! Its nice though the feeling you get when you can understand what people say to you and you can reply somewhat! Also my hiragana is doing great and my katakanna as well ,I mean Im not so good at reading fast but I can read. Oh yeah and apparently my area rep thinks my GPA is a 2.8 because yet again another miscommunication! wow I mean howmany times can you twist a pice of information but seriously main clue something wrong is that the minimum gpa you can have for the program is a 3.0 soo yeah I have a 3.5 what ever so annoying! Also Tea ceremony is the hardest thing ever! not because of the actually ceremony(even though I dont understand what we are doing) but because you have to sit in this position on top of your legs and it hurts sooo bad! but the bad part is you have to do it for like an hour and your legs fall asleep and when you stand up you fall!lol but yeah enough of the bad lets move to the good
So as I have said I Have been having a super packed week and to start with a lot of karaoke! It has been so much fun I mean they have a lot of english songs so I get to sing along and then also yesterday when we went there was this creepy dude that just kept staring at us and omg! I couldnt stop laughing because yuki was like just ignore him and he was like with his full body turned to us and staring!
Yeah so I never talked about the dinner part so I will! Basically all nobuto's work partners and our family had a little get together with lots of food and reminescing and it was so much fun because the people were so nice! and it was nice ebcause all of them were couples and had slide shows of their lives and marriges and they all had nice ones and were so happy together and had kids! They al had traveld to so it was really cool! The food here is sooo good ! and its healthy! And the thing is though that even though there is no sugar in a lot of things like tea and coffee I still like it better that way because you actually taste the drink! Anyways the house we were in was so nice I mean besides he prices of houses over here being ridiculous it was super efficient! Like the was a tea ceremony traditional room but then he rest of the house was super modern and wood every where it was good!
yeah so moving on , so Nina and I went to a culture fair during school at the university part of sanyo. It was basically a flower viewing ceremony thing and they had people and food from around the world... but yeah on to the food! It was sooo nice and I will post pictures but yeah it was basically a whole buffett thing for me and nina and man we ate a lot of it!! It was soo delicious! Its kinda creepy here though because since japan doesnt have a lot of room the cremate their dead and put little shrines on the mountain side for them, and here in okayama there are a lot of them and they are ever where! but yeah theres a pic.
So continuing another fun thing is that we wnet to Kourakuren gardens... I dont know how to spell right in english.... but yeah and it was so nice, I mean we had a tour guide but she was super boring so I had to stare at each little thing for 50 mins!lol jk but yeah it was abeautiful day and so
we got to have apicnic and eat out there and take pics but my camera went dead so I will go another time because I get in free! I do have somepics though of like the castle, but the garden is nicer ! so I will update with that!
So just some little snippets!
well since my uncle is like the ceo of nissan they own a huge soccer stadium in yokohama! and so when I want to see a game I can ask for ticketts and we can go ! yay!!! Cristiano ronaldo here I come!!! Omg I mean I am so happy right now!! woohoo! but yeah so I hope they hav a game in japan!
Oh yeah just something I wanted to say like here in japan I find it really bothering that during a class the people can talk as much as they want while the teacher is talking but yet the teacher doesnt care! oh god man it pretty annoying! oh and waiting for a train during rush hour...not nice!lol I will hav to putr a picture but there should be a guiness world record for the amount of people shoved into a train! yeah umm let me think oh yeah dont do your mom jokes in japan because they dont get them and willl take it seriously, very seriously! Oh and dont talk to drunk guys on the street because they will try to take you home!lol it legal to have beer in your hand and walk wih it but you cant have a pocket knife!? Its cool though they have ciggarett vending machines and beer vending machines with like 40 ounces in it ... wow imagine if that was inn america!

Okay but so update as well!
Today I recieved another money order so I have taken care of a lot of things! and still I need somebodys address though so I can finish stuff. But then I sent out the insurance claim info to my mom and I have put money in the bank and I bought my train passes yesterday and so with that everything is taken care of! So today thought we went to this cutest farm in the mountain, because okayama is surrounded by mountains the farmers ,which are everywhere , have to make due, but yeah so we bought ice cream and sat under the cherry blossoms and then we went to visit the cows which were huge!!　I mean I live in Texas and I had never got that close to a cow, but I go to Japan and I am petting and getting my clothes eaten by one!lol and then afterwards we went to this giant recreation center in soja (my city) and we played soccer! It seems your old girl still has it! oh yeah!
Anyways even thought I have tried some pretty interesting food, cowtoungue, liver, oyster sauce, and tiny dead fish that taste like chemicals!lol christina it all has been really delicious especially the cow tounge, but onyl with lemon!
Anyways I am about to go eat dinner so have fun everybody peace out and I am going to post pictures

OKay so pictures and a update!

Alright so the other day I went to a cherry blosom viewing ceremony, they are really popular here. I would have to say it was one of the prettiest things I ever saw in my life! There were soo many people there and little children running everywhere! But yeah my favorite part, the candy apples ahhhh heaven I mean in america they taste like chemicals but here apples are like 3 times as big and they dont polish them so they are like sooo delicious! I am really enjoying life here especially yuki! Shes soo nice and like the other day she was telling me that she would always be on my side and that when ever life gets hard just tell her and if I need to cry do it and if I want to laugh fine she wants me to live the life of a normal teenager here! Yep the good life!lol

On another note I had my first day of school today! I was sooo scared because I had to give two speeches in japanese, one for my teachers all 500 lol jk! and then one for the students! Well the teacher one went really well I memorized it and I suprised a lot of people but the student one I blanked out and had to read my paper either way it went okay. Oh and they have starbucks in the train station! but yeah so another thing is my school has no soccer team! boooooo! what ever I will just play at the neighborhood park. As expected everyone stared at me and yes a couple of pictures and somecreepy guy staring at me the whole ride home!lol I was so tired by then I was about to chew him out but then I remebered I am in japan. The thing is that in japan when a person stares at you even if you look at then they will most likely keep staring or exactly the opposite they do this secret spy stuuf where you know they are staring and you turn to look and bam! no ones there!lol but yeah the sadest part is when kids run away from your screaming Kowaii! (scary)!
The food is soo good here I dont think I have eaten the same dish twice!everyday my host parents cook something new its soo delicious! and healthily balanced!
I cant wait to get to the beach in warmer weather because its only 30 mins away! but I mean its already getting pretty hot out here!
Oh yeah and some updates on coool things in japan!

Well so last night I was getting my stuff ready for school when a loud alarm button thing went off on my phone, and its like 1 am and I stareted freaking out. so I ran down stairs and mimed to nobuto what is this , so apparently its for little kids when they get kidnaped they push the button and you can find them.

another update on toilets! welol in my families house the toilet the have when you flush it you know how the tank in the back of the toilet refills with water so the next time you flush the water comes out? well so at the top of toilets there is this sink thing and before it starts refilling the tank you wash your hands in the water and it goes into the tank..so water conservative!

Well so as most of the people who read this are close compadres or people who are super awsome! I just want to start out by saying thanks to all who read and send me emails it makes me feel loved.... but if you dont recieve a reply fast dont feel bad or unloved because its super hard to keep up with mail and everything so I try hard to write back fast.... OKAY so on away from the ordinary to the extreme! japan!

Okay just playing but yeah so updates!
ummmmm so something that made me really mad... a lady stoped us in the grocery store to talk to yuki very rudely about why she shouldnt bring kids to supermarkets and she did his for 30 minuets!!!! ahh if she was in texas she would have got cussed out! I mean seriously nobuto .. yukis husband was at work saving lives and she had to buy dinner so this stupid old lady talked really bad to yuki for something that stupid and yuki just stood there and took it because its diff. in japan.... well lets just say I glared at that lady until she was done! goddd. !

umm I went to school and got fitted for my uniform!! ahh its a new uniform not the ugly one I though but I look so cute in it and will post pictures when I wear it this thursday for the first day of school! and i Have to give a speech in front of like 800 girls!!! but yeah so when I was getting fitted they were like omg! shes soo tall and...(cough) big! :*( why! oh why are girls soo tiny here!lol what ever I am going to teach everyone the word volumptiuous!

Also sakura is super smart and I am teaching her english while they help me with japanese! and I am getting sooo good with it I mean I have been here 2 weeks and I am making sentances and talking with my host sisters!

and omg! houses and cars and big things are expensive over here i mean a house the size of mine is like 520,000 USD! I mean seriously talk about rip off!

The food here is absolutely delicious I feel like I am always full because I love eating it and we eat healthy balanced meals! things like these have me thinking man I dont want to go back to america I dont have enough time but then I stop my self and use time wisely!... like by getting yuki addicted to skip beat!lol but yeah I may be going to kourakuen garden tomorrow to see the castle and cherry blosoms and see what clubs my school has.. oh and also no age limit for clubs over here because theres no alcohol in clubs! so I found out that theers a techno club in okayma! ha! you know what Iam going to be doing after school!"yeah!lol but yeah I will write again and yall write me

okay! so hows life???!?!!!?

Well life as I know it is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I couldnt have asked for more! I mean everything is completely different over here and I mean I dont know what cuture shocked is supposed to feel like but I Have zero! I mean I love it here and I dont regeret it at all, I mean sure I miss family and friends but this is sooo natural and its like a break! Its all I wanted and more....
Okay so on to buisiness I have now got all important stuff out of the way basically that I can do. The insurance thing is not completely taken care of yet but we are all working on it but I mean I have my school shoes I registered for my alien card and I opened a bank account and then established a mailing address! So yesh a lot of stress off of my hands and all thanks to yuki for having it all organized and ready to go for me! i couldnt have done it without her! So trust me people if you are supposed to get something important done while you get here in japan get right on it because you could seriously hurt yourself later on!

are the boys/girls really that hot!?!lol
I would have to say yes and no! the boys are soooo fashionable its sickening I mean everyone here is wearing something fashionable like even nerds wear name brands! and sometimes boys here wear makeup! its pretty interesting! girls are soo cute and so is everything else I mean even criminal posters have cute penguins on them!

*Is it expensive?

Depends on where you are and if your amber!lol I mean transportation in tokyo was super expensive like its cheaper to take plane! but clothes and shoes are　soooooo cheap!!! they have like 10$ shoes stores and like I went to a store the other day and got a suede jacket with fur foer 3$ and no that isnt a typo! I mean all winter stuff uis sooo cheap right now because its about to be spring but I m from texas and its still freezing!!!

*Whats the fashion like?
everyone is in to the bag and messy look or the extreme hippie!lol but in japan lots of pink and being cute will be in style 4 ever!

*Is it hard learning the language?
well I have 2 host sisters on the same language level as me sort of and so they help me! but its really hard bnecause one word means soo many things!!

* Whats their reaction to me being mixed!lol

no mixedness here I am just straight black to them and people like stared at me in the public baths and they do stop and stare sometimes but other than that they are really nice and I love to watch people reactions!

Finally an update!(edited)

well so as of now I am finally in my host home! It was basically impossible to write because I had no idea how o read the hiragana on the keyboard or the kanjis but now I got it!

ha okay so lets start at the beggining I left dallas airport crying my eyes out and then I left on a plane crying my eyes out! when I finally reached L.A. I was sooo suprised at how well I I was able to get around and not get lost because it was hugggeee! but yeah from that point on everything was suppperr expensive! a sandwhich and a shake with fries=$16 but yeah so when I was there I converted my money into yen which like was 100=90 so it wasnt that bad compared to what it has been!

alright so skipping ahead 11 hours after meeting a french canadian patrice aka pimp master flex and 2 other americans who did nothing to help the way people see us, another canadian girl we were about to land in narita like 1 minuet away when the captain said I am sorry there has been a crash so now we have to divert to osaka airport 1 hour away so we were all mad and tired and sad because we were ,like sardines in the plane and couldnt sleep!

So we got there only to find out hey the airport isnt going to pay more than $100 to get us back to where we need to go ! but yeah in order to get that we had to wait in line for about 4 hours but we didnt have time so we payed with our own money!

so train to shinkansen(super fast train)= $27

actuall shinkansen ($130!!!!!!)

feeling of why am I here=priceless

but yeah we finally made it to tokyo at 1 am and tried to get a cab to olympic center... well because we were gaijin they drove off!lol but finally we did got there and slept!

from that week on met a lot of ppl from around the worl because olympic center if for people comming from around the world to train! we met australians .... okay and here is the edited part! what nice people they were...

but yeah we got 3 nutritious/delicious meals a day and never went hungry I thought I would but I eat really well here! I alreafy have lost 5 pounds! wow I am going to be skinny! nooo! anyways so we took a tour of tokyo it was so awweing and I mean its huge here you guys have no idea and we saw shrines and everything I mean the japanese people have it right! also cool things about japan

1. toilets! awww so nice seat warmers and a warm spray that cleans you and music thingy! its soo nice

2 everything is automatic I mean everything! doors, toilets ,water things ,lights, food everything!

3. public baths my new love! basicalle a room with a huge pool thats super hot and you sit on a bucket in a room full of naked girls and you ash your self and then you go into the giant pool with everyone and talk about the day! Imean the first time I ran away and came back 2 hours later but now I love it!

okay to continue so At the end of the week we opacked up said goodbyes and headed to our respective transportation mine was shinkansen!so me and sofia a girl from italy who lives right next to me, we rode the train for 4 hours and were hyperventalating the whole way! when we finally arrived evefryone was there for me my area rep and school girls and my mom and sisters and dad and teachers it was sooo nice they all brought me gifts and it was nice I almost cried but yeah. so then I left with my parents and itfelt like family and we headed towards nobutos work hes a medic who works at the firestation and i met his collegeagus (yeah my spellings getting bad!) they didnt know I know some japanese and so they kept telling himOMG shes black!ほんとにすごいですね it was funny but then we went to eat sushi for my first time and let me tell you japan sushi and america sushi two different things because it was the best food I have ever tasted! but yeah so then we headed home and I saw my room wich is super kawaii! I am already moved in and I lobve it I feel like famil already and I love my room and my heater because it is cold and I cant convert celcious into farenhieght! ahh but yeah its a long post and if you made it this far you probably know and love me so hi and bye I love you!also I know my host family has to be the best !

Well as the title suggests I leave this morning to begin my journey to j-pan at 2 am! Yay well actually more like nnnnnnnooooooooo I really at this point dont want to even leave but I know its worth it and time went by wayyy too fast ! I cant even believe I am about to do this. well I will take plenty of pics and I will def. post them on my myspace! I f you are teachers, friends, family and you are reading this know that I will miss you very much and it has been sooo hard saying goodbye to every one! Last day of school :(

Well as the title says it is my last day of school and I am horribly sad. I am not the type of person to get sad like this or get homesick but yet saying goodbye is so hard and I dont even want to leave anymore ( well I do but you get the idea) I mean I honestly dont know what I am doing here! One of my bestest friends in the whole world left to visit mexico and see relatives yesterday and so I wont get to see her before I leave! I cried so hard yesterday and had the biggest headache I wonder what today will be like I have pictures on my myspace so yall can add me as a friend and see them there. But yeah I should get ready to go and pay off all my fines! adios...for now

~~~Preparation~~~

Well alot has happened in the time that I havent written a blog! Well to first and foremost say my life is now complete I have recieved my VISA!!!! wooohooo(does a little traditional japanese dance) okay enough partying but yes it came in the mail on saturday and with it came my camera in the mail! oh the joys of recieving mail its like christmas! But yeah right now I just need to set up a debit card account and get my mp3 charger in the mail and I am set to go! and packing ..well lets just say I am now the new master I could have fit jimmy hoffas body an elephant and a pice of gum in there if I was offered enough! but yeah I am going to make a VLOG in a minuet at least once I get a little bit presentable!Lol so wait for me jack okay!

Hello my little poopdy doopty diddly kins!

well life goes on in that monotonous cycle hell we call living (<---EMO moment! or is it poetry?!) but seriously I dont know if I could honestly wait any longer than what I am now I mean like if me going to J-pan got delayed by some random act of god then I promise you there would be news headlines of me going ape shit bombing places and taking people hostage!lol like the ASSE offices. But yeah so recently I sent off for my visa and bought my domestic airline tickett from dfw to L.A.(<-- thats annoying to write out) but yeah so I have to leave my house in waco at 2 am or sooner take a 2 hour and 30 min. drive to dallas (why does texas have to be soo big?!) arrive at the airport @ 4-4:30 check in and leave there at 6:15 am arrive in L.A. @ 7:35 am its a 3 hr. ride but time zones so you take 2 hrs. off! so I will have a lot of time to waste in L.A. 4 hour lay over time yay! Then Im off to Japan and on a plane for 13 hrs.! sounds like lots of fun...wait scratch that...lots of beauty sleep! yay! Idk about yall but it seems so scary right now I am just waiting for something to prevent me from going I mean I never have anything this good happen to me and here I am about to go on exchange! but yeah other news I saw my room made over today! my host mom bought me the coolest wood bed and cute flowery matress and I have a cute TV in my room a cool glass table in the middle of my room with a cheetah print chair! its very teenager looking! i LOVE IT and I have a big closet and a nice balcony! I love skype! ha! but yeah so thats about it for now hopefully lots of exciting things happen so I can write another blog before I leave! but yeah I am @ the 20 day mark! yayayayayayay! exactly 3 more weeks! 1 week of school then spring break then my last week ! it will be here in no time!

The Journey continues!

Well so just to let every one know yesterday went fine and now everything is out of the way of me going to japan! I have scheduled a trip to the consulat on wednesday and plan to get my visa then! Man That one thing always had me thinking that I wouldnt go to Japan because of it... and now that its out of the way its sooo scary for me I mean 28 days, 23 hours, 40 minutes and 56 seconds until Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 12:15:00 PM That is the time until my life as I know changes and this could effect my whole life! I have waited a whole year and now I am sooo close! I've already started trying to get an idea of what I am going to pack as in clothes wise.. but shoes are a different story I dont know what I am going to pack! I mean i love all my shoes and I want to bring them all! ughhh fiting your life into a suitcase is hard! Well sort of I mean I can bring two suit cases up to 50 lb each and then my carry on asse bag sooo I mean Im going to have some free room! yay I get to bring extra stuff! but man I just had a say dream about the day I leave from dallas airpot I love Texas and Im going to miss it a lot! Im bringing my cowboy boots with me!
Also as for the midway game! Okay undertand they are the best team in our district and nobody ever scores on them and I have never played goalie in my life so heres the breakdown. They took 64 shots on me and only scored 8! and theyhave 2super good shots! but yay! I'm happy ! cant wait till we play university its over for them!.. well if we take shots

Decision Day

Well today, for reasons Im not disclosing , is decision day basically the day that determines fopr sure that nothing major will conflict in my plans to go to japan. I am really nervous and I hope it works out or else I will be a complete mess for ever I mean I worked hard to get here and this stupid thing better not get in the way. Also today sucks because we play midway for soccer and they are the best in soccer ever i mean they score 12 points on people who beat us 5 to 0 and dum dum dum I'm sadly playing goalie today but i have never in my life! the first time I even tried to play goalie wqas yesterday... OMG we are dead!

Things I want to do while in Japan/ things I love about it.

Keepin up with the Times!

Well lately not much has happened but I can say that all the papers I need for my VISA are on the way! My adbisor who has the same name as me wrote me and told me I should be able to get my visa in like this week! But yeah so as of now the official countdown

43 days, 1 hour, 0 minutes and 18 seconds until Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 12:15:00 PM! I cant wait!!!

so with that we dont have an orientation in america but when we get to Tokyo we go to Shibuya Olympic center and stay there for 4-5 days and we get a crash course in Japanese! Also I found out that there is a swedish girl that goes To my school so I will get her email and try to ask her questions which will be like a million!lol but yeah and then so I have been in contact with another girl in my program her name is lydia! we agreed to sit by each other on the plane! but I want to know even more ASSE students. My host mom told me that my rep in Japan is trying to get a hold of me she cant wait to talk to me . Im soooo happy because other people have been talking about how bad ASSE is but so Far they have been great I get everything when I need it and everyone works hard to help me and even the offices in Japan are working pretty hard I cant wait until I get my COE in priority mail!, but everything seems sooo close now I cant wait!

Best thing since sliced tomatoes!loljk but yeah seriously seriously it was sooo cool last night my mom called me on skype and I saw my house and outside of the house and my host sister sakura is sssoooooo funny the whole time she had to be infront of the camera dancing or putting things on her head she was soo kawaii!lol so my mom has been telling me how small her home was on the phone ... but when I saw it on skype its like a 2 story house I have my own balcony and windows it was nice! It was soo funny because my host dad is sooo shy he was hiding behind a wall and my host mom started chasing his and made him say hello!lol and she picked up her dog and showed me him to and he was sooo cute as well he just sat there! and they were watching a drama on the tv and it was funny because a romantic scene poped up and then the dude went pee in the bathroom after wards and she didnt notice and then she saw and we both started laughing!lol it was great I cant wait until I get a web cam I want to show her my house but def. skype is the best thing for exchangers! and its free

Hello my everdear recipients!lol
Well so lately not much going on in the exchange world, I have just been talking to my host mom... and once again I can tell you I could not have gotten a btter host mom. I really hope to help her with english in return when I get to Japan.She said shes already been preparing cards and other hings to help me learn her language!Also I foubd out shes 26! yay lol but yeah she was basically just telling me that when I am there she wants me to act normally if Im mad be mad if Im sad be sad she said just tell her anything if Im not making friends she will be my friend. When I get there I cant wait till we go to Korea for a week or so and then shes going to take me to an outlet mall so I can get some clothes! but yeah its going to be a lot of fun. Right now she and I like to rant on the phone about how dumb ASSE and PIEE are!lol she is already like a real mom and she helps me with anything I am soo happy I can talk to her about anything!lol we were also talking about her and her husband and it was funny because we were joking and I said shes pretty and she was like well my husbands kinda ugly!lolbut I love his personality and he wouldnt ever cheat on me he just plays his games all the time!lol thats the only one he would cheat on me with!lolThen she was telling me how she was sadd because nene is sooo young and she likes to draw on the walls recently so now in my room I got a nice drawing of a dog!lol but yeah I cant wait March 21st here I come!

Flight Info!

Well today I recieved a call from my glorious advisor and now I know I will be leaving March 21st at 12:15 pm and arriving in Narita Airport @ 3:55 pm march 23rd. Kinda confusing I cant wait until I get my asse bag, tags, travel info, and VISA! Also something else that happened was I recieved a call acouple days previous and it was my advisor and she told me somethings I should know and was like students may switch homes a couple of times at least 3, and I was sooo sad because I love my host family...so I emailed them and I was like so I heard yall wouldnt be keeping me for the whole year only about 3 months... so I get a reply and shes like NONONO!
we want you the whole year you are our daughter already . So my advisor calls and is like so we got an interesting call from you host parents and they said they wanted us to make sure we understood they would keep me the whole year and the need to understand that! yay they love me!lol and I m happy they went out of their way to make sure they knew . I cant wait to go! also my schools paying for our 1000 dollar uniform and transportation!

Well guess who my host uncle is?! THE CEO OF NISSAN! although we only get to see him on holidays they say he spoils them! and my host mom speak pretty good english she was an exchange student, since my host dad is a firefighter he works only 10-15 days a month and the rest of the time they like to vacation! so she said she wants to go to korea when i get there! and were going to visit all of their family ,Tokyo, osaka, kotrea and yokohama and wakayama! and she just bought my bed and a t.v. and said she considers me her daughter already. ALSO NO BEDTIME!!!!!!! just as long as I wake up on time! and she said i can call her yuki-chan and I can have boyfriends and sleepovers and no chores just as long as I watch the kids while she makes dinner and I help sakura with english so she can get into kindergarden! and the best thing she said after the exchange she will help me get into Okayama University and pass the exams and I can live with her!! and she loves to shop! well i really dont but still! Now I just have to learn how to use skype! here are a couple they are sooo kawaii! and their dogs! and cousins!

Visa!!! Important

Okay
this is one of the most important things!!!! this is probably the most difficult thing I have ever done. When it is time to do your visa get right on it because one it takes for ever and you need to get a lot of things for over seas so dont procrastinate! The directions will be so confusing you dont even want to go any more!...okay maybe thats an exaggeratiion but still take a deep breath and just do it! same with the passport you need that for a visa.
